About Mrs. Balvert
Hello, my name is Sandra Balvert and I am a First Grade Teacher in the Hilmar Unified School District. I am so very excited and honored to be teaching in this amazing district. It’s even more special to me because my family has been involved in this district for many years.
I have been a Preschool, TK, Kindergarten and First Grade teacher for over 14 years. I graduated from CSU Stanislaus in 2002 where I received my BA, my Teaching Credential and my Child Development Site Supervisor Credential. I am also specially trained in Reading Recovery, GLAD and I speak Portuguese. I also am a Google Certified Level 1 Teacher and a Seesaw Pioneer Teacher.
My grandparents immigrated to the Hilmar area in the 70's with their 6 children from the Azores. They lived their whole lives here in Hilmar and I grew up visiting them and being involved with the community. Today, my family enjoys celebrating the Hilmar Dairy Festival, the homecoming parade and the many festivities at Holy Rosary Church.
I live in Ballico, Ca. where my husband and I farm almonds. I have two boys, Wyatt and Adrian, who also go to school in the district. Our family really enjoys camping, fishing, wild flowers, baking, reading and riding bikes. Our favorite place to camp and fish is in the Clarks Fork and Kennedy Meadows area off of Highway 108. I also enjoy sewing, photography, paper crafting and digital design.
I am looking forward to an amazing year at Hilmar Unified School District.
